  5. DOS-CALC has just been accepted by the ASP as a member.  Version 3.0 includes
  6. the ASP logo and the OMBUDSMAN statement.  Please read the OMBUDSMAN
  7. statement.  The ASP does everything within its power to assure that members
  8. are reputable and will stand behind their products.  DOS-CALC is now a
  9. member of this reputable group.

  13. | need to register DOS-CALC once.  The author will send you a registration  |
  14. | number which will validate your copy of DOS-CALC.  This number will also  |

  23. After registering, you're on our mailing list and will receive notices of
  24. each new release.  Now that DOS-CALC has been accepted by the ASP, you can
  25. acquire the latest version of DOS-CALC from your local ASP disk vendor or
  26. ASP BBS.

  28. The latest version of DOS-CALC is also kept on CompuServ:  GO IBMSYS
  29. It's located in the DESKTOP section as DCALCx.ZIP (where x is the latest 
  30. release).  Of course, you can always get the latest release directly from
  31. DOS-CALC (current price is $5.00 to cover materials and shipping).

  33. Mouse support has been added in version 3.0.  If you have a Microsoft(R) or
  34. Microsoft compatible mouse, DOS-CALC will automatically detect it.  You
  35. can point and click on any of the functions, scroll the tape or use the
  36. right button as the = key.

  64. Over 400 conversions have already been entered into DOS-CALC.  Chances are,
  65. the conversion you might need is already there.  If it's not, you can add
  66. your own conversion(s)!  There's room to have a total of 1200 conversions.
  67.  
  68. Tables can be created by entering in information from a text editor or 
  69. out putting information directly from a spreadsheet or database program.
  70. DOS-CALC will handle up to 100 tables, each containing up to 1200 entries.  
  71. A number of sample tables have been included.
  72.  
  73. Incorporating these features into DOS-CALC, there is no need to exit and run
  74. a separate conversion program, look up a conversion or look up a value in a
  75. table.  They are accessible right in DOS-CALC and return the value directly
  76. to the DOS-CALC calculator for your next math operation.

  78. Both of these new features have been made to be user modifiable (open
  79. architecture).  You can create your own tables and/or add your own conversion
  80. data.  This will allow you to have a wealth of information right at your
  81. finger tips, when you need it.  This is particularly handy for portable
  82. computing.  You can save price sheet, specification tables or whatever
  83. before leaving on a sales trip.  You can enter in performance criteria,
  84. operating data, etc. before leaving on a service trip.  You can set up a
  85. budget table for your own personal budget.  All of the information you need,
  86. can be available when you need it - when you're performing calculations.

  88. A DOS SHELL function has been added to allow another program to run without
  89. having to leave DOS-CALC.  You may also define a program to run when the
  90. DOS SHELL function is selected.

  92. DOS-CALC automatically saves the tape information when you exit the program.
  93. The next time you run DOS-CALC, it's just as you left it the previous time.
  94. Every effort has been made to keep DOS-CALC as quick and simple to operate
  95. as possible.

  97. Every function available is listed on the screen.  There is no need to
  98. "remember" anything.  Help with any of the functions or features is available
  99. by simply pressing the F1 key.
